Just A Suggestion...What Do You Think?

Gidday from Downunder,

I am probably going to regret posting this, however, as I have 4" thick skin, and I'm reasonably thick anyway, I will carry on.

I am not very computer literate, nor do I understand TXT messaging on mobile phones (I find it difficult to even turn the damn things on etc.) and being reasonably new to "posting" in this (and other) forums, I have difficulty in decyphering some of the abbreviations used.

I have worked out (duh) that LOL = "lot's of laughter", BTW = "by the way" and a few others, but some of the other abbreviations leave me for dead, especially those that relate to the parts on Volvo vehicles. Example TPS, EGR, MAF etc. etc.

I was wondering if it would/could be worthwhile starting a glossary of abbreviations for those of us not in the know to use?

Any chance or am I CAS (clutching at straws)??

It's a good idea, it always takes me ages to figure out these abbreviations when I see one for the first time.

The following may or may not be correct but are what I interpret them to be.

LOL - I always thought this was Laugh Out Loud but you suggestion's a possibility too.
LMSO - Laughed My Socks Off
PMSL - Pee'd (polite version) My Self Laughing.

TPS - Throttle Position Sensor
MAF - Mass Air Flow sensor
ETS - Electronic Throttle Sensor
CEL - Check Engine Light

EGR - I know it but can't think what it is right now.

I can't think of any more abbreviations at the moment but if you post up some more I'll see if I know them.

I still think that having a glossary on THIS FORUM would be a huge help to us dweebs. Please... give us a glossary of abbreviations. It'd save a lot of time switching from site to site!
