I don't understand mudflaps, if memory serves then they used to be popular 30 years ago to stop stone chips on the lower panels and the inevitable rust etc...

As far as stopping 'dirt' they appear to do very little since when driving at anything over about 30mph most of the dirt flies off the top of the wheels, over the wings and then the doors.

Can anyone actually say they keep the car cleaner?

No, it still gets bloomin' filthy and when it went in for its service they only cleaned half of the muck off, so it's going to be like that for another year.

Ditto. Fitted mine from new and whilst they may look nice they make absolutely no difference to the amount of muck left on the calfs of ones trousers as you get out of the vehicle. You would have to fit ones for a Scammell lorry to have any effect!

Mine work a treat, much less muck up the doors, sills and the sill trims. I’m having the rear ones next. The clear coat on my sills were getting hammered until I fitted the front flaps, it’s fine now.
