  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Optimate is what they use for 12V motorcycles if that helps. I use a couple to keep my batteries for the horses electric fence in good order and have never had any issues. You can also get solar panels if the car is kept outside. I used to do that with a 4x4 that was used infrequently.

Can anyone recommend a good solar maintainer that will work in a standard UK winter, ie cloudy?? I've used a Ring one for a while but it's pretty marginal at best, and useless in the winter. It's also quite old now so looking for a replacement. I use an Optimate at basecamp and it works fine, despite being a motorcycle one.
