  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Does the Volvo tool give a reading in millimeters?

So far as I recall, the mot test procedure does not prescribe how the thickness is measured - I know (some years ago) PSA used to prescribe the use of something that looked like a large feeler gauge but Nissan & Mitsubishi prescribed something that looked like the old tyre tread depth gauges that was pen like (if you bought the dealer tools).

(My point being both of the above were colour coded - red immediate replacement, orange advise replacement as may not last until next service, green was satisfactory. But the mot test should be done to dot standards wherever it is done - franchise specific guidelines and thresholds are irrelevant.)
