Glad you got sorted to your satisfaction YMM. You can relax now and enjoy your car. Are the monthly payments x10 or x12 months? I'm still on a pre-subscription policy, but it's coming up to renewal time in a few months time.

We can confirm we have noted on your policy that from inception you have a Volvo Approved Polestar Optimisation Software Upgrade.
This is an acceptable modification and will not affect any claims made on your policy."

I had the same concerns re no mention of Polestar on the documentation. I rang them and had it noted on my policy too.

I have polestar on my current car and the previous. Churchill were informed and had no problems with it! I can't help feeling that the insurance companies just see it as an extra revenue!

It’s a rolling monthly payment with no cancellation fees.
So yes 12m but runs until you stop it.
Cheapest I got, Admiral was next at £686/yr

Good news and good result!

Maybe I'm missing a trick there with Volvo Insurance. Will try them next year!

I guess that if the Polestar mod is carried out it gets tagged by Volvo, but is undeclared to the insurer, the mod doesn't get reflected on the database used by them? Could be an interesting scenario if someone had a claim after unknowingly buying an unbadged car knowing nothing about the mod.

I doubt in a standard claim ( standard bump or stolen ) the insurance company would be plugging into the ECU to check. If the car was stolen and not recovered it's a tad tricky to tell if the car had Polestar optimisation

You're right. I can't imagine the insurers doing a forensic job on the car unless it looked like the claim might lead to a hefty payout for death or injury.
