S60, D3(2011) jerking between 1500 and 2000rpm
Hello,
Car started jerking between 1500 and 2000rpm about 3-4 weeks ago, both normal and hard acceleration - seems like a dip in power - and I can't seem to find the cause: there are no error codes; I've changed the boost control valve ( was going to change anyway) and had no effect. I am looking next at checking and changing the fuel filter (car been serviced in December, I use Tesco and Shell fuel), cleaning the throttle body and checking all turbo hoses(again). Any other things to look at ? Has anyone had this issue? Thank you Last edited by Alex9; Jun 25th, 2020 at 08:22. |

I still have it, can't find anything wrong with it the car just feels slow. I'll clean my particulate filter and see how this turns out.

I had something like this with a 2009 Mondeo TDCi when the MAF sensor was dirty.
Cleaning it improved things. Replacing it was a permanent fix. It isn't the same engine of course, but it probably has similar operating principles to the Volvo diesel. |

Well, all turbo diesel cars operate in a similar manner.
I've replaced my turbo charger cause it had a lot of play in there, TCV valve, MAP sensor, MAF sensor, TMAP sensor and all of my turbo hoses. One thing left for me to try is cleaning my dpf and hope that will work. |

I monitor my DPF soot levels on a weekly basis and make sure it regenerates. The symptoms are there regardless of the level of soot so not sure how the DPF might cause the jerking?

Clogged dpf can cause various strange symptoms, but if you say your soot levels are within acceptable parameters, then check your EGR valve for soot content and all of your boost related sensors. If a sensor is giving a false reading that could be the problem. It doesn't have to be dead to misbehave.

Also check your vacuum lines, there should be three 3.2mm hoses behind the engine going like this. TCV - Turbo Inlet manifold - TCV HP fuel pump - Inlet manifold Or something like that if I'm correct. |
