My 2013 M/Y XC60 is also included. Does anyone have any inkling of the work required to carry out the recall? From what I've read the issue is with the seat belt securing cable which can presumably work harden and deteriorate with a certain pattern of useage. Is this likely to be a simple bolt off, bolt on job or might it require seats out etc to get to the faulty parts?
Personally I'm not too worried about my imminent safety relating to this so am happy to give time for my local (ish, they're 15 miles away from me) dealership a bit of time to practice before I get mine booked in. As an aside, whilst this is obviously a devastating situation for Volvo globally, do the individual dealerships benefit in any way from these recalls or are they seen as a right royal pain for the disruption to normal workshop activities they inevitably cause?

Hi Everyone, spoke to local Volvo Dealer today about seat belt issue, the word is to wait until you get a letter, could be a few months.
If you have any problems with the seat belt, contact them asap. sit tight, stay safe XC60 2009 D5 TWIN TURBO |
