Yes, its well established for Xc90
Playing a little with pushing seat back and changing the seat back angle can give you both working HUD and acceptable seating position but yes that is very strange especially as swedes are generally tall. I am 62 and I can just accommodate but it would not be my chosen seat position had it not been for HUD. I imagine proper tall people have no chance unless they slouch. What is strange is they had two model updates since the initial xc90 release and they would not increase the range of movement or at least skew it more towards tall people which should be very simple.

I have pondered on this myself. I am just 5ft10 which I believe is average height. I am right at the top end of the adjustment.
I have always thought that it must be a physical restriction - ie. to do with the space behind the binnacle and the angles which are possible with the current dash design....

I would have thought the V90CC would have the components (seat, dash, HUD, etc.) in the same relative positions to each other and with the same adjustments as the S90. Though I can imagine the XC90 could have different relative positions of the different components (I am guessing, I have not sat in one), so could be different.
I am 5'10", and the HUD has quite a bit of travel up and down (more up than down) whilst remaining visible when I am in my normal seating position. Maybe it is just the seating position I use, but it is fine for me - as a person of roughly average height As a test today I raised the drivers seat as high as possible, then used a couple of cushions so my head was brushing the roof. On the lowest possible position for the HUD, I am just missing the top few mm of the HUD

Exactly as Jcbrown, I too am just over 5'10" tall and have no problem in setting the HUD in my V90 Inscription somewhere in the centre of the screen with adjustment up and down still available.
Perhaps it's something specific to the CC variant causing the issue? The only problem I sometimes had was the HUD moving itself to the top of the screen on start-up, but a reset of the driver profile seems to have cured that. Paul

I have had V90 service loan car with HUD and it was ok for me and I am just over 6 foot tall, Others on here have said you can get HUD back into normal position after going to top of screen by pressing your saved seat position memory button ( 1, 2 or 3 which ever your seat setting is saved in) as its linked to seat, mirrors and HUD.

I suspect it may simply require a physical tweak of the projector or mirror within the dash - but access to it is no doubt difficult.
Maybe someone with technical knowledge or a sense of adventure could give it a try? |

Hmmm, picked up my new XC90 yesterday (my 3rd) and I now have HUD for the first time. Worked out how to adjust it but as mentioned above, the lowest setting isn't low enough for my driving position. I have moved the seat down from it's highest position (despite that being where I want it) but it's still to low - I am 6ft tall.
It's a brand new car, could this really need a software update to fix it?
