Potential new owner - 2015 XC70 D5 AWD
Hi all,
Back in 2012 I nearly bought a V70 (actually posted a thread on here at the time), long story short ended up in an Audi A6 Avant! Now 6 years on the A6 has had it's day and I'm almost an owner of a 2015 XC70. Going to look next week, have put deposit down. Spec as follows: 2015 D5 AWD Se Lux Auto Heated seats Heated windscreen Laminated windows Keyless drive/personal car communicator Lane departure warning Driver alert control Adaptive cruise Front/rear park assist Rear reversing camera Sensus Connect with Harmon Kardon stereo 18" Leda wheels Tinted rear windows/boot 1 owner from new (Apparently a doctor that did a lot of motorway miles), 3 years old next month. Full Volvo service history. 63,000 miles. 27/08/15 PDI 24/08/16 1st service 21/02/17 2nd service 14/02/18 3rd service Anything I need to look for? Auxiliary belt change? Transmission fluid change? Cambelt change? Can someone confirm if this car would be a 2015-AT 1446 or a 2015-AT 1420? Trying to download the manual from the Volvo website and I'm not sure what the difference is.... Thanks in advance! |

It is probably a MY2016 model, not a 2015.
The numbers in the manual titles give model year and 1st week of build, i.e. 2015-AT 1446 is for a MY2015 model, built from week 46 of 2014 onwards, 2015-AT 1420 is MY2015 built between week 20 of 2014 and week 45 of 2014. Yours was probably built around week 30 in 2015 so you likely need a 2016-AT manual. |

Someone has said I should ask for the dealer to include a transmission/haldex oil change/service.
Good idea? |

Car should be at the dealership this weekend, looking forward to viewing.
Can anyone confirm what rear shocks this will come with? Standard or Nivomats? If standard, is it a big job to change to Nivomats? |

I’d be very surprised if you can get a transmission fluid change out of them. Dealer would probably charge £300 for this alone.
Either way, I’d recommend you change the transmission fluid. I’ve done a few ‘sump dumps’ recently on mine - I was quite surprised by the fluid condition at only 48k. Brown and in need of a change. Your fluid should still be decent, that mileage in 3yrs is likely due to lots of motorway cruising, whereas my car in its 5.5yrs has had a life of pulling herself up hills. |

Is a transmission fluid change something that could be done yourself?

Yep, I've had a look around read some good threads. Also found a good youtube video, it doesn't look overly hard! Not sure about the Volvo diagnostic tool though....
