Exclamation XC60 EGR cooler

Does anyone have experience of the following :- My XC60 D4 has now done 119,500 miles without incident. At about 100,000 it started to burn a little oil, roughly half a litre per 5,000 miles. I then had an issue with the EGR cooler which was clogged up with an oily residue. First it was cleaned in a sonic bath but had to be subsequently replaced about 5,000 miles later. The dealer told me to get rid of the car as this issue would happen again. I am loathe to do this as this car runs smoothly , quietly and has never let me down in any way. It is the SE Sat Nav Lux model. Volvo UK were less that helpful, a young girl told me to take it to a Volvo dealer to get a diagnostic read out.. But, as the car is running like a well oiled Swiss watch it wouldn't show a fault. If anyone has any experience of this or can offer some advice I would be grateful. Thanks.
