Looks to me like you have standard steel wheels and you are minus the central hub caps. They are chrome disks with Volvo stamped in the middle. They just cover the middle depression of your wheel by grasping the axle grease cap. You can see them in the link on this departed GL I used to have: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/album....5&pictureid=13 If you can wait for 6 weeks or so I can let you have them for the price of postage. I work away from home so can't get at them until then. PM me. Dave A.

Thank you I appreciate all the comments, I really like this volvo, what drew me to it was that it was such a practical classic, the ride height is great although I wouldn't want to take it any further off-road than in the picture! I like the chrome covers and the domed nuts, did they only use these for a short time? I need to see about sorting the wheels out, the corrosion on them really lets the car down,
My wheels and trim are like this Are they right for my 84' 244? Last edited by Tramp; Sep 7th, 2014 at 19:21. |

I stand corrected, Steven is right. You have the tiny covers on your axle grease caps. Yes my ones would fit and are the right age, but you don't need them. As you say just get the steel wheels cleaned up and resprayed silver.
Cheers, Dave A.

I like the Saloons. They have a much lovelier passenger compartment. And alleged family and friends have no hope of a free removals service. Kushtie. And I like the early models. My next car might be a 244. If I ever have another car ...
It's a great looking car Tramp. |

Thanks, I like the saloon too, I think the shape is nicer than the estate, I will do the wheels at some point, my intention is to just try and make as much like my spare wheel as I can, standard gunmetal grey, I'll probably have to get them sprayed professionally I'm not really sure how to deal with the surface pitting, when I've had things powder coated before the pitting shows through as an uneven texture,
Any way - more photos ( I like taking photos!) |

Yeah sounds good, I live at Rotherham and work at Cottam (so I'm local!) what job role did you used to do? I'll be honest there aren't many older Volvo's about at Cottam, just mine and a slinger with a 940, so I'm sure I'd have noticed you about of of have seen you,
