Look like I am goig to be having fun on this one!
Cannot believe they're telling you to drive your car with oil below MIN!!

Are you sure you phoned to Volvo Assist? It seems so crazy!

My advise is call on Monday to Volvo Customer Centre and tell them the story.

RAC came out second opinion. still wont recover and are saying to return to dealer.

Have both job cards here stating to drive to dealer.

Volvo Customer centre is that a different number to the 0800 volvo assist?

I have had the car for 4 month and 3000 miles now covered just over 50k, and seriously thinking of going back to a Subaru, as i have never had any problems with there aftercare.

Don't risk the problems if you ignore Volvo's advice to have the car recovered even if you have to pay for it yourself and sue the RAC to recover the money. If you fail to get satisfaction in the small claims court for a hundred pounds or so, it will be far less trouble and expense than trying to sue Volvo for the cost of an engine running into thousands of pounds.

All the best.

At least here, in Spain, the numbers are different. I think it is the same in UK. Go to http://www.volvocars.com/uk, and at the bottom you will see "contact us". It says:

VCUK Customer Relations - Abbey Road - Whitley Coventry - CV3 4LF
Switchboard phone: 08457 564636

Anyway, I agree with Roy. Don't risk your car. Tow it to the dealer even if you have to pay it by yourself.

Just called my breakdown cover, and will revoer no questioned asked, and will provide a hire car for upto 3 days while my car is being repaired.

I am going to wait for the Volvo Dealer to open tomorrow before i use my personal cover to see what they can arrange.

But at the moment completely disapointed with my local Dealer, and the Volvo Assist after care.

Once it is fixed the car is going and being replaced with a Subaru Tribeca.

Must be bad if you're replacing it with a Tribeca, given the reviews of that car!
