just test driven a T5 and...
want to know about the problems with the car (1994 T5 auto /220,000kilometres))
lamda warning light on- dead cat? srs airbag warning light on - normal? when accelerating hard, orange light (top left of panel) comes on - washer fluid or something? air - con dead. Owner says that it needs new compressor - expensive? drove it, but only around town, seemed to pull, brake etc. ok. also dent in passenger door/wing. Car is running winter tyres (michelin artic?), in Barcelona, in summer...? sensible? so . he wants 2000euros (cheap for spanish prices) but i'm not sure that it's worth it. - want to see it's ITV (MOT equiv) first... any advice much appreciated, cheers, chris |

Chris,
Walk (run) away! Find something else!! They are very good cars if you can a good one within your budget. Anything that remotely resembles what you have described above, I would keep well clear of, unless you want to break it down for parts. Good luck with finding a good one. Cheers, |

According to what you mentioned here and wht will be seen in the dealer or independent garage you will spend 4000 or 6000 euros after you buy it.
So do not walk but run away from that car.. |

repairs- air-con 500euros?
door - leave as is - will have the car running for 2500euros, seemed like an OK offer, as it's difficult to find 850's (never mind T5's) over here. will keep looking! |

It may be a dumb question but....have you thought of importing a T5/T5R from outside of Spain (if that's where you're located)?? You might be able to get something "nice" at a reasonable price.

I would also have a look at Holland, as there's a big Volvo T5 scene there.
