Default Phone Book help required please

Hi all- newbie here, so please bear with me.

Hubby & I just bought our 1st Volvo 2 weeks ago 57 XC70 SE Lux, really enjoying it, specially the geartronic - I keep forgetting clutch when I get relegated to L200 !!

Have managed to read the blurb that came with it but car doesn't have Bluetooth that is specified in handbook. Ours, I assume is built into the stereo system. I have successfully connected phone to car but I cannot import the phonebook, I've tried everything I can think of but it won't work. The message says it's importing in the background but nothing comes through. The phone is Nokia 3250. Any suggestions please?

Easiest option is probably to contact Volvo and ask them which phones are supported. There have been reported issues with Nokia N95 not working but Sony Ericsson i800 being fine.
Here is a link to Nokia forum.

Edit: It's not just Volvo, Audi and Vauxhall/Opel are also experiencing problems. See here

I've linked my very old Nokia 8910i, not tried to import the phone book but it does show the last 10 numbers called.

Also my Bluetooth manual was seperate to the main car manual. I'd contact the dealer and ask them to get you a copy of it.

so your car is fitted with the phone option versus bluetooth?

if the bluetooth is working you see the symbol in the left hand top corner of the screen.

I have connected my Nokia 6288 without issues and a Sony 880i - Didn't need to do anything other than put the password in and the numbers are automatically made available.

as chaddie, the accessory stuff comes in independent booklets.

As per the others - comes as a separate book. It took me and the dealer 30 seconds to get it all installed - works everytime without problem.

Wink Phone Book update

Thanks to all, went to dealer today to get dirt cover for boot, turns out we had been given the wrong handbook to start with!!! So they've ordered a new one for us and the very nice salesman could not get my contacts across to the car. I've checked the list Chaddie linked to, and my phone is not listed as tested. So take it from us that the Nokia 3250 & N93 you cannot import the phonebooks. So guess we'll have to get a compatible phone now if we want that feature.

Thanks again to everyone for their advise. I'm really enjoying driving this car.
