Well I'm a sucker for settling for Carplay then!

Didn't think I could push it too much as it's a lease car.

Exactly. And I wouldn't be taking my car to the dealer every few weeks to fix stuff. Now they want to completely replace the squeaky back seats!!!

Thanks - is the goodwill package you're getting being funded by the dealer or Volvo?

Hi. I asked that as I was wary of the cost bearance impacting an ongoing relationship. Was advised it was Volvo UK customer relations cost code that absorbs.

This was then later ratified by the confirmation of goodwill (as it states regards the polestar installation that dealership are to do the installation and charge back the internal cost to them).

Hope that helps.
Ian.

Also - bacs transfer to me and Volvo care vouchers all initiated / processed by Volvo UK. Not dealership. Whilst that in itself doesn’t mean they don’t recouperate from dealership - can n conjunction with their wording regards polestar cost to be reclaimed from customer relations suggests all picked up by the customer relations dept.

That's helpful too.

The dealership has been relatively helpful and claim that the cost of the loan car they have agreed to is funded entirely by them.

I'd (obviously) like to maintain a good relationship with the local dealer and Volvo should clearly be responsible for as much of the cost of the ****-up as possible.

Again, your input is much appreciated.

Not sure if it is the same for you but Volvo UK organised my courtesy car. They are based down south (255mikes away and the car was delivered with 260 miles on the clock! With a number plate clearly stating Volvo UK on it).

As such - unless there is a recharge to the dealership - that was also paid for by the Volvo UK side.

I was very polite in my dealings with them throughout.

I simply stated that by ordering the S90 I am buying into the brand vision of a car capable to compete with merc bmw Audi etc.

And that doesn’t mean just buying into the fact it’s got a longer bonnet and looks nice - it’s about trusting the brand to look after you in the the same comprehensive way that the mainstream (German) lux car marques do.

Hence they had an opportunity to prove that true wasn’t misplaced, make the situation good with appropriate goodwill and keep me as an advocate of the brand.

Or make unproprtionate effort and lose that trust and make me regret my purchase which no doubt would leave me less able to recommend highly the brand and even less likely to repurchase.

Thankfully the helpful gent at Volvo UK took an understanding and rational approach and agreed the suggested package without hesitation or resistance and I consequently do feel valued and looked after and would readily recommend the brand as I have done so to my colleagues and (subject to the car being good) will very much look to repurchase Volvo in 2019/2020.

Again, very interesting.

The local dealer is insistent that the cost of the loan car (model as yet unspecified) is down to them alone.

I did suggest that Volvo Uk should be absorbing this charge but they were adamant that this was not the case.
