Default V60 Buying.

Bonjour,

New to Volvo, Well I will be if I buy one. And a few questions.

I need an Estate and it'll cover the miles... Partially Self Serviced. Independent for the rest.

Toss up between a C250 Cdi or a V60 maybe a V70.

If it's a Volvo it'll be D4 or D5.

What are the service intervals on them?

I've spotted a Polestar fettled V60 D5 AWD on a 12 plate IRC what Generation of Haldex would it be using?

What kind of Mpg would I see? VAG Tdi's I currently have give a solid 45-48mpg tank to tank on Costco Fuel on mixed driving.

What would be the best Spec on a V60?... Any must haves?

I;m sure there will be more questions as they enter my head.

TIA

I own a V60 D5 FWD Se Lux Nav 2013 with the polestar upgrade. I drive it 50 miles a day and see a healthy return of 42mpg. I dont drive like I stole it, however its such a wonderful engine with the Autobox every drive is quite spirited. I found the V70 too big for my lifestyle. I have VIDA hence service the car myself and over 3.5 years (51k) have only broken down once due to a loose earth wire. The adaptive cruise control is a must if your planning long motorway journeys and try to haggle a spare wheel if buying from a volvo dealer. Cant stand the emergency kits. Good luck.

If you are looking for economy then a my 2014 V60 D6 is something to look at.

Mine returns an average of 60+ mpg on average.

I would caveat that with the fact that it's fully charged every day.

As for options, you want the 'Dancing Headlights' the active cruise, and the audio upgrade as a must, keyless entry and start is nice to have.

Yeh, thanks for that - I've upgraded so much in my D6, but now I've got to upgrade the audio, and fit keyless operation. Just when I thought, other than finding my remaining tinted windows, I'd finished.

Going back to the OP, the D6 hybrid is a lovely thing - I have had a half empty tank of diesel since March, and not just because of the pandemic - my current average, 100.8mpg.

Also, as daft as it sounds, the V60 is a bit taller than the MB, which makes getting in and out of it a tad easier !!

why do you want a V60 over a V70 ? It depends what you want to carry . My brother has a v60 and he wanted to pick up an arm chair , he could not get it in because the roof is low .. It went in my volvo 343 just fine ..

Doesn't need to be a big estate. Hence a C rather than an Eclass

There's not many V70's that I like wrong colour wrong trim etc.

Armchair would go on back of the L200 anything bigger goes on the trailer.

MY = model year.... or any D5/6 V60 hybrid (available 2012-17) worth a look if boot space is not an issue. Note: the hybrid drive battery raises the boot floor thus reducing boot volume.
