Default Engine guard?

My wife's car - xc70 -60 plate- had the word engine guard or something similar on the stereo facia screen as she shut it off the other night.
I can't find anything in the manual about it?
I wondered if the car was fitted with a turbo timer or something similar?
Car is running great so I don't think it was a warning sign more an information thing? Any ideas please?

"Engine System Service Required" Perhaps ? A fault code may be stored and let you know what is what .

No was not that. It's not long had a huge service and all the system was reset. She tells me it says it when she turns the car off!? The wording comes up on the stereo display screen.

Maybe it has been set to display an alarm sensor message , when you want to turn the interior sensors off when you leave the car .

yes that is what i meant , you turn this function off in the menu somewhere , unless you want to disable your interior alarm sensor quite often .

So it's to disable the alarm inside the car when it's locked?
Makes sense, thanks. Been confusing me no end.

It disables the internal and motion sensors. Handy to use when on a ferry to avoid setting the alarm off with the movement of the boat.

In the car system menus there are two options to "reduce guard". One is "activate once" and the other is "ask on exit". If someone has accidentally checked the latter then it will ask you if you want to use this feature every time you leave the vehicle. It's useful if you need to leave dogs in the car.
You can just uncheck the tick box in the menus to get rid of it.
