Exclamation Retro fitting Isofix

Hi Folks. I have a Volvo S40 1.6 (2002) and need to fit an Isofix bar to the base of the rear seats to allow a baby seat to 'dock' with the car.

Unfortunately, there's no Isofix bar fitted to the S40 at present. Is there an aftermarket option to fit this, please?

I looked into this for my 99 v40, and from what I remember it is far from easy.

EDIT: here's the thread I made a couple of years ago, there's some info there

Thanks, Bud. I found the aftermarket Isofix bar as described in your post last night, but the picture looks to be as if the bar is fixed to the top of the rear seats whereas I need it to be fitted to the base.

Ebay search 30618404 - this is what I'm looking at. I've emailed the seller to ask if it's for fitment at the base or not.

Cheers.

This is the kit I installed on the passenger side of my 2003 v40:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-V...53.m1438.l2649

I think your link is the same. The kit is 2 brackets, you'll be taking out the seat backs and replacing the outboard seat back attachment/hinge with one that has an isofix bracket incorporated. Depending on which side you're fitting (drivers or passengers) the other bracket is either a replacement hinge or just a bracket that fits over an existing bolt. EG on the pasenger side the 2nd bracket fits halfway along the 2/3rds split seat back. Hope that makes sense?

All fitted now. Here's the old hinge parts (bottom of the image) and the newer hinge parts (top of the image) with the Isofix hoops.

Many thanks, All.

Here are the official installation instructions for the passenger side Isofix kit (30618093): http://spdr.me/XWvPIU

Just in case it's useful for anyone coming across this thread in the future.

Hi

I'm (urgently!) in need of one of the isofix brackets mentioned in the posts above - for the left hand passenger seat - item number 30618093. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one? Google, ebay and Amazon searches have largely proved fruitless!

Many thanks for any assistance.

Unfortunately the left hand side one, cannot be found new anymore and is not produced anymore. You can still find the right hand side one, or if you are lucky, you might be able to find a second hand one for the left side.
