Volvo V70 Wont start??? Help
Hi need some help here plz,
Volvo v70 D3 Auto. Put in key and car nothing happened at all, seemed like flat battery battery but battery seems fine, have disconnected battery for 15 mins and there seemed some power. connected a battery jump start unit, all lights came on but would not even turn over. Cannot get key back out, messages saying put foot on brake to release key, ign on stop car, but still cant get key out, also cant open electronic boot. |

Have since found a multi meter, battery reads '12.3', reconnected battery lead after about 20 mins and key fob was spat out.
When connecting battery, and inserting key all the dash lights up but as soon as I try to start, it all goes dead, absolutely nowt and then it is as if the battery is disconnected. Is there a cut off switch somewhere in the cabin, like in some vehicles that cuts everything off when depressed??? |

Perhaps give the battery a good charge over night or buy a new one? When a battery is playing up it can throw up loads of weird electrical issues

As above 12.3V is low if the battery is in peak condition and no load then it should be around 13.2 volts

The battery voltage at rest is only half the story at best.
What the voltage drops to during the failed start would be more useful.....

I had some very, very odd behavior on our P3 V70 when the battery died. One minute the car would start just fine, the next, nothing but lights on dash. As someone else said, 12.3V at rest is only part of the story. Get the battery properly tested (load tested) to verify it's in working order.
