Sticking caliper
Hi,
Took the car out today as it has been stud for around two weeks, i could tell straight away something on the braking system was sticking, had a feel round the front discs and one side is cool and the other hot, i only done about 5 miles so guessing a sticking caliper? I will clean the slider pins and push the caliper back, is it advisable to crack the nipple open for pushing the caliper back? Thanks, Craig.

Good idea to open the bleed nipple but not absolutely necessary as long as you remove the master cylinder cap. Might also be worth easing the piston back and forth a few times to free it off. A squirt of wd40 inside the dust boot may help.

Well.. I can quite honestly say that I've never, ever slackened off a bleed nipple in the normal course of events (and got away it).. Just removed the fluid filler cap.. However, with an ABS valve block in the system it may be wise to..

Me too, never cracked the nipple, for this type of work. In fact I'd be concerned about letting air in?
As said, remove the master cylinder cap. I put a plastic bag over it with an elastic band, in case it overflows and to stop dirt getting in. Good luck.
