I let the process run all Saturday and Sunday and decided to let the laptop run all Sunday night through till Monday morning to get the CEM pin code. I had to take out the airfilter and sit the battery charger in that space, otherwise I couldn't get the bonnet shut with the charger stopping it from closing. Got all that set-up expecting it to be still running in the morning and I was about to go to bed at half-past midnight when I got an email saying, PIN decoded! I decided to go out in the dark and damp and dismantle everything and refit the air filter to sve me doing it before work. I will try upgrading and fitting the digital dash tonight.

Yesterday (Saturday) I had the guy I use for detailing come over and give the car a full paint correction and protection treatment. He spent 7 hours working on the car removing scratches, swirl marks and other contamination from the bodywork. Whilst he was doing that I was removing each wheel to clean inside and out as well as cleaning and painting each brake calliper.
I’m very pleased with the results , the car looks brand new! The only thing letting it down are the alloys which are suffering from corrosion, despite my efforts cleaning them they still look scruffy. I’ll have to see about a refurbishment.

Today I’ll be working on the inside of the car addressing a few little things.

Minor service and pads all round. Hoovered approx 1/3 of a golden retriever out of the boot.

Fitted new xenon bulbs, cleaned the tree sap off my windscreen. Sucked out the excess oil I stuck in, hope the warning clears after the mentioned 20 miles

This happened to me, mainly because my dipstick was kinked and gave me a false reading. I sucked out excess oil and borrowed a comprehensive OBD reader to clear the warning. However it’s come back again, I think it’s either a faulty sensor or the sensor has oil on it from the overfill.

I fitted a set of 17" 'Spartes' alloys to my S80. I believe these were a Volvo option amongst others when the vehicle was new. When I bought them, they were in fair condition, but needed a little tlc. I got them refurbed & they look brilliant. Well, I think they do!

Pics to follow.

Had the Polestar optimisation upgrade from Volvo. Even discounted it isn't cheap but it does change the car from ordinary comfortable to sporty comfortable and although it isn't best value for money there isn't a cheaper way to get the results without the upgrade being vulnerable to overwriting by Volvo software downloads. I had a month to decide if I wanted to keep it or take it out and get my money back but from the moment I drove the uprated car I knew I was going to keep the Polestar in place.

My D4 AWD had its upgrade done a few weeks ago as well and I can't fault it.
Got a good deal at Cambridge Garages and took about 30 mind to install.
