Default Really annoying rattle coming from the dash s40/v50

I've got this really annoying rattle coming from the back of the dashboard, and I can't seem to locate the exact spot.
It's driving me nuts lol.

Anyone know else have this and know any fixes to stop it, apart from the turn the stereo up haha 👍

I've had this too! Does yours happen at low speeds but sound like you're driving over a rumble strip at 70, kind of like a humming sound?

Maybe I'm just crazy...

It's a shot in the dark but i remember reading a thread similar to this and it turned out to be the plastic rain sensor cover at the top of the windscreen vibrating, and it was making it sound like it was coming from the back of the dash? Worth a look i suppose!

I have one of those as well, just somewhere inside this cover. Took a while to locate where the rattle was coming from as it sounded like it was coming from inside the dashboard. Will take it apart when the weather turns warmer.

Mine has one of these but only at 60-70 mph!!! It's not the rain sensor cover on my car coz it's broken in the glovebox haha. Drives me up the wall and I don't know where it's coming from! Think it's around the left of the aluminium centre console, will investigate over half term thank god for school holidays, love my job but love being off more I think

YES!! Found where it was coming from.
It was the alarm light sensor on the dash. There was a part number sticker on the side of it, Which had come lose and made it sound it was vibrating/ rattling. I know its sounds like nothing but was bugging the hell out of me. Problem solved lol🙏🙏🙏

Does the alarm light sensor just pop out somehow or do the facia and CD unit need to be removed? My 2006 S40 has a rattle from somwhere behind the dash that's driving me mad. It's worse at higher temperatures for some reason. It does seem to stop when I eject a CD but gradually returns so it could be something to do with the CD mechanism. If there's a potentially simple solution I'd rather go there first for obvious reasons. Thanks.

Our 38k 2012 C30 has developed a very annoying buzz/rattle from dashboard, will check out this solution over the weekend and reply back
