Default Radiator fans permanently on when engine is running

I was cleaning leaves from the engine compartment and I noticed the radiator fans run permanently when the engine is running even starting from cold with an air temperature of 6 deg.C. Regardless of whether the air-con is on or not. I'm sure they never used to do that . As both are on, it tends to point towards a temperature sensor somewhere.

Has anyone else come across this and found out what caused it/ found a solution ? The car is a 2015 V60 Polestar with the T6 petrol engine.. I imagine the fans/ control circuitry are the same as on other V60/ S60 models of the same era though.

I once had a fan stay running on a V90 even when ignition turned off, it flattened my battery and I could not even open the doors with the fob or cancel the alarm, which activated when I disconnected the battery after unlocked car with the key.
It was running when I parked the car in my garage but I thought it would stop when engine cooled but obviously it continued to run until battery was drained.
After recharging the battery and re-fitting it the fan started back up, I pulling the fan fuse (which was a big 50 amp one) and left it out for a short while, when I put the fuse back in the fan did not come on, it never happened again.
Being an Automatic which do not start with a push I was worried this might happen again when in the middle of nowhere so I always carried a jump starter in the car after that, which was never used.

Thanks, I also keep a high capacity lithium ion jump starter in my car just in case , as I really don't believe the Volvo dealer/ Volvo UK's "expert opinion" that it's normal for the battery in my car to be in essence so very undercharged ( 12.1 V or less; in my experience, damaging to the simple lead/ acid battery). They say it's due to the Volvo control system being "smart " and saving me fuel/ saving the planet!!! I'm against a brick wall. dealing with them.

Update.

My car went in to a Volvo dealer for the 4 year service (at 15,000 miles).

No error codes ( so it means the aircon pressure s OK). There is an obvious pressure sensor on the aircon pipework, so I believe them as a low pressure would throw up an error code.

It can be caused apparently due to high humidity in the car; due to the incessant rain in the last few months and 2 regular spaniel passengers, I can believe that as well !
