Default Dashboard warning lights

Just out of curiosity on my 2006 euro4 V70

What lights come on and stay on once you turn the key to position II?
Mime all come on but all go off even the Parking/handbrake light and oil light.
The parking light never is on even when the handbrake is applied.
I also thought the oil light did not go off until the engine has the correct oil pressure?

Oil light should stay on as you say
ABS - self tests so should illuminate for a few seconds then go off
SRS - self tests and again illuminated for a good few seconds not measured but guessing 5-10s before going off.
Mine puts up the yellow triangle for a few seconds, but that’s because the alarm siren is guffed.
Handbrake light assuming it’s applied.

Without been in the car, think that’s it.

A bit more concerning is the oil pressure light does not come on at all!!
Wheee is the oil pressure switch on these engines?
it doesn't look like it is on the front of the engine!

Near as I can figure mine doesn't have an oil pressure switch, the light is there in the dash, but I cant find any trace of a switch in the wiring diagram or on the engine.

I can't see any tape over the light unless it has been covered internally inside the instruments.
I have driven this for about 400 miles now and doesn't sound like it has no oil pressure.
I have also seen that if the engine has low oil pressure the information readout on the left will flash a message.

Where is the oil pressure switch located as I cannot see it on the front of the block?

I have found the issue for the handbrake as it was just a loose connection.

I would recommend removing the DIM - the battery must be kept disconnected, and inspecting the small SMD leds that correspond with that light - may have a shop look at it. Not that bad removing the white back plastic cover, but careful with the small springs when putting it back - these can easily get bent and not make contact (they make the gauges work)

The oil pressure sensor appears to be at the right of the dipstick hole, slightly higher up

I test drove a lemon once, and it did indeed display a warning about stop immediately or to that effect when oil pressure went

The most common reason is a dirty switch or bent switch contact in the handbrake mechanism under the gaiter which is straightforward enough to test and fix.
The activation of the handbrake light can also be disabled/enabled with Vida on some models and model years though a previous owner electing to do that is less likely.

Vida can also do a self test sequence of all dash lights LED numbers and needles which is a handy starting point before opening anything up.
