The activation of the handbrake light can also be disabled/enabled with Vida on some models and model years though a previous owner electing to do that is less likely.

Vida can also do a self test sequence of all dash lights LED numbers and needles which is a handy starting point before opening anything up.
I already said I repaired the handbrake light.
The lack of an oil pressure light is now priority.
Sadly I do not have and can't afford vida at the moment.

Put a request in the General section for a local member with Vida.
I was helped a couple of times by members before getting my own and have since helped many members for free.
Trying to work out what's happening with traditional methods can often be laborious and fruitless.

I was talking to a mechanic today who said that euro 4 d5 engines from 05 to around 2009/2010 mostly dont have an oil pressure switch. There are exceptions, factory police versions etc but most dont.
If you look at the block under the filter and just below the split line there will be a blanking plug where the switch would go.
You can retrofit an oil switch from a euro 3 engine but you will have to wire it through a separate light as the wiring is not there in the engine loom.

That would add up, I just checked the manual and it states:-

1. With certain engine variants the symbol for low oil pressure is not lit.

I have read on this forum about D5s taking a while for the oil pressure light taking a while to go out.
Maybe this was Volvos answer to the problem.
