Help my Volvo sounds like Volkswagen :(
hi
My lovely s60 D5,2002, 210k started to develop some issue. The engine sounds more rough than normal (like volkswagen which i had before and would like to forget about) and when pulling out the gas pedal does not seem to be very responsive even when pressed quite deep until it revs up quite high. After initial revving up car drives better but still more rough than normal. Could it be some sensor like mass airflow or maybe crankshaft sensor. I have Car Scanner Pro on my mobile with blouetooth reader but it does not show any errors or maybe i am using it wrong - will check again. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

What's the general condition of the vehicle?
Is the fuel filter clogged? Does your engine have the "mixing pipe" which clogs with black deposits? MAF sensors do need periodic cleaning. I know in petrol engines a bad/failing crankshaft position sensor can lead to hard starting and missing. I had a CKP go bad. The sensor had a magnet which was unbelievably weak compared to the replacement sensor's. Do get it read competently. |
