1998 Celebration MOT pass again
As the title of my thread suggests, My 1998 Celebration estate has passed with flying colours again.....
However, there is one advisory which I need to address this year, and that is the handbrake compensator linkage pivot pin which is fixed to the rear axle.Is this something I might need to fabricate or can I still get them from Volvo? Or indeed is a good second hand one a good idea. All suggestion welcome, thanks Shaun Last edited by 940volvoman; Jan 21st, 2020 at 17:52. Reason: incorrect Title text |

I've seen those as a kit somewhere... I did a handbrake rebuild last year and ultimately identified I didn't need the pivot stuff, so not sure where I saw it. It will have beeen from an on-line supplier though.
IIRC it involves cutting hte old one off and clamping the new one in its place. |

Best bet is first wait until the weather warms up a bit and second, get under the car and have a look at how much of the original is left.
Most of mine was intact but missing the main pin that secured the "A-frame" part to the axle so i used an M5 nut and bolt if memory serves.
