Default Polybush fitting service

Following on from my guide

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=297897

I have decided that I would offer on the forum a front suspension arm rebuild service.

I have a spare set of arms, I will clean them up, remove the rust, paint them with chassis paint and fit polybushes for the cost of materials plus my time plus a £50 deposit which will be returned once I have received your old arms in exchange.

Cost of polybushes £182
Refundable deposit £50
Cost of labour £60 (that's about £10 an hour)
Plus shipping.

I can drill, tap and fit grease nipples if you would like as I have done to mine for easy maintenance.

I can fit normal rubber bushes too if required however I will only do so if genuine Volvo items are used as aftermarket rubber is rubbish.

If this is of interest to anyone then please send me a PM.

I can also fit the arms for people but they would have to be willing to travel to Worcester.

I have my first taker for this service (genuine Volvo rubber will be fitted), so a bump just in case anyone wants theirs doing too while I have all the stuff out.

I have three sets of arms so can do another two now.

Is there a cost differential for the volvo rubber bush option? I am keen.

Cheers,

Hiya, I can check for you but I believe genuine Volvo rubber may be more expensive than polybushes.

Spaceships are much dearer in rubber. Not so sure on strut rod and control arm ones

Mark has sent me the prices for the genuine rubber from last year when he bought them.

Strut rod end bush 1329655 £43.20 pair + vat

Control arm 1273235 £54.40 pair + vat

Control arm to strut rod bush (spaceship) 1359599 they are on ebay, genuine ones £26.57 each and you need 4!

ARB droplink pin bushes 1205991 £8.40 for 4 + vat

So before postage genuine rubber (not including the actual eyelet bush for the droplinks) is £233.48 after VAT but before postage, so you are looking around £250 without the eyelet bush for genuine Volvo rubber.

So you are looking at £360 for the work plus the cost of materials, of course £50 will be refunded upon receiving your old arms.
