@jeffcooper63 - I haven't made enough posts on here to reply to your PM directly. However I have found the thread I remembered:
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=307542 Only issue is (which I hadn't noted at the time) he seems to be based in Romania, if it is just part of the motor that needs rewinding then there should be firms in the UK that can do it, alternatively importing one from Romania may not be too bad (and almost certainly cheaper than a new one from Volvo). |

Can you give a bit more specific info on how these factors could diagnose the potential AC or ISG problems please.

As for AC compressor it's just an educated guess, but I presume that expected/actual values are identical (or almost identical) while you diagnose a car part. Any discrepancies might be early symptoms of failure, even before an error code is stored. |

Putting aside for a minute the horror stories of AC compressors failing and being/not being replaced under warranty.
The actual root cause of the pump failing was found by Volvo to be the fluid and gas the system was originally filled with. The important question you need answered is not 'has the pump been replaced', but 'has the Volvo preventative maintenance which involves completely draining and fully flushing the AC system before refilling with the 'new fluids and gas'' This should have been performed by the supplying dealer at no cost to the owner. Hope that helps ? |

Ok, quick question - I have already had the error message come up (the isolation 1 level version) so would we say that it's already too late to have the aircon flushed and refilled using the new spec to try to stop it getting any worse ?

How did you reset?

Once home, my "smart" charge cable triggers blinking red LED on the car's charge socket and a hybrid system, service required error appears on the dash. How did you reset yours? |
