Hi,
Could you please share the update file bluepower sent to you for the BLP-990A radio?
Can you upload it to google drive or somewhere i could download it from?
I contacted Bluepower 2 years ago and they just ignore all my emails.
Thanks in advance.

Hello there. Here it is, compressed into rar-package. Needs to be extracted into the root of usb-drive:

Hello!

I just bought a Volvo V50 which has been fitted with a BLP-990A radio by the previous user. Sadly, the parking distance sensors don't work (no beeping), and I don't know why. Did anybody have any success using the parking distance function with the BLP-990A?

Also, does anybody have a user manual for this device? I was unable to find anything on the web.

Thank you!

Sadly, one of the functions you lose with having BLP-990A installed are parking distance sensors. For me, the seatbelt-alarm didnt beep anymore either.

You are kidding,right?

The manufacturer advertises that all functions of the original radio are still supported and somehow they forgot about park distance control? I can hardly believe they can get away with something like that in a >700€ radio that was tailor-made for this model... If I had bought this thing new and paid >700€ for that thing, I would be truly upset.

Funny enough, the seatbelt alarm still works in my car. One of the feaures I wouldn't have been sad to lose

Hello. I think I get here late. Dang. I just installed the unit Today. Music is playing through the tablet instead. And I'm about to install the firmware that @volvodude100 posted. Fingers crossed. But considering what I read, I'm more tempted to re-install the old head unit of my C30 and put my phone back on a phone holder. I can't believe I spent 600 euros on this.

That being said, and sorry for bringing this thread back, any luck with the reverse detector sound?

Sigh...

Quick update. Almost everything is working. I’ve got a lot of noise when switch to AUX though. And I’m still waiting for the Apple dongle that didn’t arrive. Fingers crossed for the unit to keep working.

Did anyone else get a lot of noise while on AUX? Any idea what might cause it?

I was seriously considering the bluepower last year but in the end went down the route of hard wiring in a permanent power supply for a bluetooth receiver plugged into the aux and haven't looked back since. It's hidden so you don't see anything, starts with the car and connects automatically to phones and has no issues whatsoever.

I considered the same, but then bought this. First, I even tried a bluetooth to radio receiver, worst option ever. Low quality sound. cables everywhere, it was a nightmare. Then I installed a cd-tray phone holder. And worked pretty well, but I was in an avenue, and saw how a juggler stole a phone from another car in front of me, so I decided to buy a screen. (It was easier than move to another country).

I'm quite happy with the initial result so far. I thought it would be easier though. And I know I need to check the wires to see what's causing that static noise.

At some point I think it would be cheaper to buy a new car instead of pimping my old C30... but I kinda like it.

Aftermarket is just partciularly hard with our cars due to the fibre optic cabling, so our options are limited?

Does your not have an AUX input? If not I guess my setup doesn't work.
