Exactly the same thing has happened to me on Thursday.
I read the bellaxc60 post which summed up what faults I have seen all seems relating to SRS module dropping out and systems shutting down once SRS fault.

Checked all the basics all good and certainly no water ingress that I can see/feel Ieven checked behind the interior light
Hi
Sounds exactly the same issue that I had, SRS message & then all of the other safety systems not working.

On mine (2015 MY D5 AWD SE Lux) the dealer replaced a control unit with a part number of 31658440 (From invoice) that was £499.50 + VAT, Recoded the part to the Car - 31275266 £37.80 + VAT & then the checking for leaks, taking the car apart reassembly etc. £305+VAT.

Once the part was replaced everything burst back to life & all is now good in the world.

Thank you Andy. My car has been with the dealer for over a week now...I’ll ring them tomorrow and see if they recognise your part number. The last time I spoke to them they were confident that it was the SRS and were about to replace it.

I’ve just looked up your part number and it’s coming up as the SRS module.

Hopefully they'll have you up & running again soon then. Strange there's now 3 XC60's of around the same age have all blown the same module within a few months of each other.

The garage have just called to say my car is ready for collection. All faults have been cleared by fitting a new SRS module.

Like you I feel it’s a bit strange that these modules are failing at a similar age. I would have thought that these modules should have been good for the life of the car.

I have owned several cars over the year’s and never had a problem with or heard of anyone having a problem with this type of module until now.

Perhaps the problem could be added to the XC60 problems sticky? I’m not sure how this is considered/arranged.

Default XC60 Fault

Good morning.

After reading for days about a problem with my XC60 MY14, this is the closest thing to my problem.

Last week my wife was driving down the A3 & the car displayed BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE STOP SAFELY. Suspecting this could be a bad battery as had a few warning messages before x-mas & original Volvo battery. I went and replaced it. No fault codes and drove the car home. But it happened again after 10 minutes and had to pull over. Then went into Limp home mode!

Now the car hardly starts & pretty much all warning lights come up on the dash. But the two main ones are BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE & SRS AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT. The car sometimes won’t even start or I cannot change from park. It basically doesn’t know what’s going on. Just like me.

I ran the VIDA diagnostic & after clearing all faults. The following items keep on returning. So it’s un drivable.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated before I have to get it recovered to a garage. Will try and work out how to upload pictures now.

Thank you.
