Replacing core plug
D5244T XC90 2004
If you was changing the core plug on the above engine code? Would you put it in dry or use some form of sealant? If so, what would you recommend? |

The new one is a metal cup plug, so a smear or jointing compound wouldn't do any harm, just above the crankshaft.

That’s the one. I’ve already got it purchased.
I’ve been recommended Hylomar or RTV silicone elsewhere, would they both be suitable? |

Its quite a tight fit anyway, Just a little Hyloma will be fine it will also help it slide in.
