Default Advice on v70 d5 please

Can't post in general forum ;( sorry

Hi - I've been looking at a 2003 D5 S - it's done 100k miles, had the cam changed at 90k - looks in pretty good nick, but it's had 7 previous keepers. For a car that's only 10 years old this seems like a lot - should I steer clear, or shell out for an AA check and make an offer ?

thanks
rob

Thanks Mike

I don't know what DIM DMf, intercooler are - would they be covered by a comprehensive AA check? Would the clutch?

It seems like 1 previous keeper was actually a garage - I thought that garages weren't usually listed and were 'temporary owners'

possibly but you would have to check with the AA, if you use the search button and type in the items there is a lot of info about them , on that note do not let it put you off buying if the right one comes along.

Just for your personal sanity check the MOT history against the milage via the dvla at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring...ot/dg_10020539
...worth a few minutes once you have the current MOT number. Nearly got caught once with a 225K miler showing 103K..! :-)

Decided not to buy it in the end although it seemed ok and was around £3.5k.
Thanks for all the advice - I'm not a car buying expert but I'm learning slowly. Still seems odd for a 100k car to change hands 8 times
