Default Turbo pipe

Hi everyone I have a 56 plate d5 and my wife was taking our kids to school today and it lost all power and went into limp mode, she had it recovered to our local garage we use and the turbo pipe had come off.

They have fitted new jubilee clips and cleaned it all up so it’s all sorted but was seeing what would have caused it to come off, the garage think it’s just years of use and abit of oil in the pipe and it worked loose.

Do you think I need to be worried about it happening again or don’t worry, using it to go to London on the weekend and it’s got me abit paranoid.

Thanks Daniel

I bought a 2003 last year and the pipe came off. Took it back to dealer, we put the pipe back on. Following day, towing caravan, it came off again after about 2 hours of driving. I replaced jubilee clips, cleaned up pipes and refitted. Hasn't been a problem since.
So you should be ok.

They come off when the plastic mounts break where the pipe bolts to the engine . It will come off again sooner or later , Always best to replace the pipe for 100% reliability .
