Need help please....bought a 2013 V40 1.6 D2 but now has a intermittent starting issue. Sometimes it starts straight away but sometimes all lights on and immobiliser fault with DTSC fault and Pedestrian protection fault illuminates and car won't start. I've looked on Internet for possible faults and some point to CEM Module fault??

I owned a 2013 T4 for about 3 weeks before I rejected it and gave it back to the dealer which had a very similar fault.
I'd had a car 2 days and went to start it came up with a message like " immobiliser. Try to start again". I got out of the car, locked it, opened it again and tried again and it just started. This happened several times over the next couple of weeks, sometimes starting after a couple of attempts, sometimes after many minutes and on most occasions there were warnings about brake service required and/or coolant service required, etc.
Then when pulling away from a set of lights it just cut out and wouldn't restart. I called my breakdown but after 5 minutes it just started.
2 days later I'd ordered a takeaway, went to collect and when I came out it refused to start. I got my wife to collect me and the meal and called the breakdown service to recover the car to my home. The breakdown driver said that he had worked for a Volvo dealer for 15 years and that there was a known problem with some 2013 V40 involving the wiring to the CEM. Certainly with the intermittent nature of the problem it seemed like a problem with the wiring or the connections to the CEM, if not the CEM itself.
The next day I called the supplying garage and had them take the car back and told them I was rejecting it. Over a week later they called me to tell me that they had had it checked by an auto electrician and it was now fixed. Would I like the car back? However I had lost confidence it and would certainly have wanted a report of what the problem was and how it was fixed but that wasn't offered.
I bought another V40, 3 years newer but alas a T2 at a lower spec.

As above. Check the connector plugs to the CEM behind the glovebox, and behind the carpet near the control pedals. There is a known issue with the contacts on some vehicles. It might be fixed by simply disconnecting and reconnecting the plugs, or treating the pins with contact cleaner beforehand, but I understand that upgraded pins with plated contacts are also available from Volvo.
