Default Seat position memory

Hi folks,

Something strange is going on with the seat position memory of my 2014 D5 XC70. When I put a seat position in memory the car reports that the seat position has been stored in memory but when I want to recall by pressing the relative memory location button, the seat moves slightly backwards and then stops and nothing else happens. Now the battery was replaced in July, by Volvo Dealer Ray Chapman in Malton as it happens, could that have something to do with it? I only found this error out recently as I don’t change the position of the seats very often but I gave the car a thorough interior clean and moved the seats in the process. Do the seats need to be reset like the electric windows do after a battery change?

Thank for your help in advance

Rob

When you moved the seat did you move it back or just locked the car?

The key will save the actual positions of the seat and mirrors when the car is locked, independently of the saved memory positions

In the V70 it is necessary to press and hold a little bit the button with the number. If I just shortly press the button then, seat make some move but not final programmed position. The same is on all 3 buttons. Try to press a little bit longer.

Hi thanks for getting back to me.
I just locked the car and tried to adjust next time I was in it but memory buttons didn’t do anything even after holding the button down for a while. I did move the seat manually back to where it was comfortable and put it into memory but this resulted in the issue I mentioned before.

Hi thanks for getting back to me. Yes I’m aware of having to hold down the numbered buttons to make the seat go until it stops at the user programmed position.

Cheers, Rob.
