Default D5 rear engine pad.

Today while looking around the xc90 I noticed that when the engine oil cap was off it was making a shady popping noise. I can recall seeing a video that showed you how to solve it if it’s not the pcv.

So I blocked off both engine pads and the noise went away.... plugged the front one in and still no noise... connected the rear pad and the noise returned.

I haven’t got a vacuum tester and thought the pipe might have been nicked. I looked at the pad and where there is two holes on the side, there was oil/water residue. I connected up a hand bike pump and done one pump and the air just came out the holes on the side of the mount.

I’ve only had the car since late January and recently replaced the front due to it looking worn and covered in oil (got a good deal on it).

I know I should have tested it with a vacuum tester but I never. Is the mount designed to pass positive pressure out the holes?

Thanks

The engine mount is supposed to be airtight.

Yours is not.

Replace it.

It is tight and do-able...just but you need small hands

Don't expect any good deal from Hillington parts department, I called them last week and their prices are a joke
