Seen it loads and loads of times
"but the fault codes said" Anybody can read fault codes but unstanding them is another thing, I wasn't far away with intercooler hose and ive never even seen your car but understand what certain fault codes together can mean

Your point is so true. The engineer that helped me said he has been working on Volvo's for 15 years - experience and understanding - all he needed was 10 minutes. I am a novice at cars but I am so enjoying the community full of knowledge, advice and so helpful Thank you again |

I've said it before but I think at least half of the new members that post on here about problem cars actually have a problem garage...

Marshalls and Sturgess update
The car is working as new.
And as you might expect none of the sensors were faulty. It was only the intercooler. Went to Marshalls in Nottingham and the service was amazing and so knowledgeable absolutely delighted. Complained to Sturgess in Leicester - the Service manager was deflecting the whole conversation and suggested the fault with the car occurred i.e. after it left the Sturgess garage he tried pulling the same on me when my car went in for service and they returned it with a broken panel. Never accepted it was misdiagnosed. I don't understand why it is so hard to accept if one makes an error. He said he would call back but never did hoping I would disappear without making a fuss so I sent an email to his bosses After writing my complain - I got a call for him to say "sorry" I know he did not care less. I am happy that atleast I have found a decent garage if I ever need one again. Thank you all for your support and suggestions it really saved me £700 otherwise I would have gone spent it with Sturgess on parts that were never required to be fixed. Love the community thank you all |

It was not a mistake. There are thief among the main dealers. It is quite common actually.
Nothing a review can't fix, an email/letter to Volvo UK can also be very helpful https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Stu...!9m1!1b1?hl=en

Hi.
I've had the same error codes come up on my car. Is there an easy way to test if it is down to the intercooler? Many thanks! |

Smoke test, thats what my Volvo dealer in Exeter did (and let me watch) when I raised my concerns about what codes were coming up on Vida (exactly the same as the issue on this thread). Unfortunately weve had to wait for a new intercooler as the UK is out of stock, they've had to ship one over from Sweden, but it is being fitted on Friday at last :-)

I've just booked it in with my independent Volvo garage to be looked at on the 30th, and before I even said anything more about the faults that had come up he said about running a smoke test to see if it is an intercooler/leak problem. May I ask what sort of costs you have run in to for the fix? I've put mine in for service at the same time, but it would be nice to have an idea of what I should be expecting if it is the intercooler. Thanks again! |
