  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default oil pressure switch

just fitted socond new oil pressure switch to my 84 360 GLT,B200E engine.first one wouldnt fit,second one fits but oil light wont go out.origional one was leeking at spade terminal end so had to be replaced.looking at markings on new and old switches i think the new one is still wrong.new one says 1.2-1.6 bar.old one says 0.5 bar +/- 0.1 bar.i got the new ones from EURO CAR PARTS they'r normally very very good.any help on this matter would be apreciated as i'v put the old switch back on and its leaking again. thanks TONY. PS. how many MPG should i be getting.

I am pretty sure 0.5 bar (7psi) is correct, the one you have bought is higher pressure and is usually for rally cars but should go out at high revs. If not you have low oil pressure.

you should be able to get a switch at most motor factors.
