I just hope that we don't have any issues for a few years...
That looks like an awful lot of car for the money! Well done.

I have stocked up on 12l of gearbox oil and each 6 months or 6,000 miles when I change the engine oil I shall dump 2 or so litres out the box and refil with fresh, that way the oil is constantly cleaning the box and been refreshed.

I don’t buy the whole 30,000 to 60,000 mike life story at all, with good servicing this box could be good for huge distances.

I have a much later 2012 d5 and find parts cheap and the car easy to work on (I did buy it in stead of a Range Rover so maybe I am looking at costs favourably)

It will be a safe and comfy car for the family, I love mine!

Having been the driver of one of these in ahead on collision, one piece of advice I would give is dont move the front seats too far forward. My wife had hers moved forward to stop our son from kicking the back of it, and when we had the crash the airbag burned the skin off her nose. She looked liked like rudolph for a few weeks, which wasnt too bad as it was just before Christmas, lol :-)

Having said that we went out and bought another straight away as it performed magnificently in the crash.

Put it in perspective:
a fantastic result compare to what would have happened without an airbag

Indeed, I wasnt moaning, I was just making them aware of what could happen and giving advice about safety as requested.
