Default Neutral Stop - Which Model Years?

Just out of interest did all years of the 5 speed Auto S60 have the neutral stop feature?

What I read on the board here is that it appears to be the early cars.

My S60 is a late 2005 (MY06) Euro 3 with the 5 speed geartronic and has it.

So basically when slowing down, when the revs drop to about 1600 the box goes to neutral and the engine to tick over.

Powering away again whilst moving it seems best to use light throttle while it engages again then you are off.

Its not a harsh re-engagement, you just sense a 'bite'

Like other posters have said in older posts, and I have driven Merc and BMW autos in the past, it takes a little getting used to initially to avoid a large thump when pulling out of junctions by getting off of the brake and onto the gas too early.

I tend to time the traffic gaps and let off he brake about a second or so before I want to move.

The first thing you should do is get the latest software in the gearbox if you have no record of any update , I can't remember when but perhaps 2005 ish the software changed the way the gearbox worked to prolong it's life . if you were coasting down, the gearbox would disengage gear and rpm would go to idle once you got to 20 mph ... + a lot more things were changed , pressures etc .. ...

Hi Clan,

My car is fully up to date with all of the latest software as it has been serviced at the main dealer for the last 3 years.

And they told me that they updated the software as part of the service and diagnostics.

I do have a print out of the Vehicle details from volvo that I got in 2015 which shows pretty much everything from gearbox type, serial number suspension spring rates, control modules with hardware serial numbers, software part numbers etc.
