Default brake line warning

Hi all,
Just thought i would share this with you for obvious reasons.
Arrived at the garage last night to have braided lines attached to rear of car and newpads all round, the guys in the garage removed the back left original brake hose which practically sits on the back axle and showed it to me ,it was badly cut and chaffed in comparisn to the one on the right side, possibly another 1,000 miles + and the line may have burst under heavy braking leading to ????,
so anyone who drives an 96 850 or older with 100,000 miles aprox on the clock i would recommend having the lines checked to be on the safe side.
