You will struggle to detach the pulley from the shaft, and that's not where the play is coming from anyway.

I had the same issue, and I’ve been chasing the same noise for a couple of months on and off. 2 days before Xmas she threw the fan belt tensioner, I replaced the tensioner (Xmas eve) and the wining has disappeared! Although there is still slight play in the power steering pump. This was obviously my issue, but food for thought as I done the same checks and deemed my tensioner sound at the time.

Thanks for confirming, I realised its not the pulley end of the shaft a couple of days ago, new pump ordered, fingers crossed that will get rid of the rest of the squeaky chirp.

I noticed slight play on my PAS pump pulley so hoping that is the source of my chirping I decided to replace it but the replacement arrived today and it has the same level of play as my old one, I hope that is how they are meant to be. All other pulleys seem fine and the alternator passes the one way rotation test fine.
