Post Old Question.

Ok i am sure this question has been discussed.

What oil to use on a 2003 xc70 d5 163 with 200k?
I use the Castrol Magnatec 5w30.....

I am asking this because i have read that is ok, that x40 are better.....I know its a high mileage engine. i think on using this oil i am cleaning my engine( i have my car for 3 months and when i bought it the oil was VERY DIRTY, so i know this oil is cleaning it).I also know that this oil is not A3 B4 compatible. But i was told it was good for 5k to clean the engine. I made one change after 2k this one now has less than 1000 miles.
Please give me your ideas and thoughts and experiences about it.

Another question, did anybody used those turbo cleaners? are they any good......SHOULD WE USE THEM?

Many Thanks

I personally prefer these A3/B4 for value for money:

Shell Helix Ultra 0W/40
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel 0W/40

I see heavy winter but in UK maybe no need for 0W.

Would like to try Liqui Moly 2050 Synthoil Energy 0W-40 next if I can find a good deal.
