C70 2.0D Auto ...Wet or Dry DPF

Ok so I have read a couple of posts that suggest the 2.0D Powershift cars have a dry DPF where as manual and 1.6D cars (not C70) have wet DPF’s needing the Eolys fluid.

I also read a quick way to check if you have a wet DPF is to go into the secret menu and if ADM (Additive Dosing Module) does not appear on the list then it is a dry DPF.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Mine is a 2010 2.0D Auto, I assume it is a powershift and ADM is not on the secret menu....potentially good news????

If it's any help, my understanding on the DPF is the same as yours. Since the only auto option for the 2.0D was Powershift, you will have the dry DPF

Cheers for the reply. That’s good news then. What’s the lifetime on the dry DPF’s? Do they require any maintenance or service?

My car does short journeys of around 10 miles a day Monday to Friday then a 200mile round trip commute at the weekend. I imagine that is letting the DPF get nice and hot each week. Just wondering if I should do anything else??

The dry DPF system is maintenance-free and supposed to be 'lifetime', or good for at least 150000 miles. What'll get it eventually is when it fills up with the ash from the bio element of the diesel, that can't be burnt off like the soot can. So, the less diesel you can consume for your mileage, the longer it'll last.

Your weekly round sounds fine, it should get every chance to run a regeneration when it needs to. All it needs is a reasonably steady speed over about 45mph for 20-30mins once the regen starts, anything up to 65-70mph should be fine. (If you give it too many beans for too long you'll actually stop regeneration as the ECM has to tell it to provide the power you're asking for instead).
