Default More (different) Weber problems

OK, so now that we've been driving the 1800 more, and getting a good heat soak into the engine, the primary throttle plate is sticking in the bore when the engine is good and hot. It's like cruise control - you can take your foot off the gas and it stays right where it was.

It's definitely either a spindle or a throttle plate issue. So far I've disconnected all the linkage, issue remains, loosened the screws in the plate to allow it to center itself, and it got a little better, but problem still remains.

This is a brand-new carb. Is it just a wonky plate or bore issue? Is there anything I can do about it? The PO had a shop install the carb for him in Aug or Sep and I think it may be a major pain in the ass to try and return the carb under warranty. Anywhere I can maybe lightly file the plate? Is it possible it's a spindle issue, and would there be anything I can do to fix that? Would a thermal spacer help prevent heat soak enough to keep this from happening?

Please help, thanks!

You may not need to go this far but the link goes to a very good rebuild thread.http://www.mk3supra.org/topic/561-gu...236-dgav-carb/

Also note comment here about the over tightened linkage nut. That's the big but thin one on the end of the spindle.

Thanks Derek. The problem only came up after I removed the carb to install a header. Someone else on another board mentioned overtightened mounting nuts, in addition to overtightening the spindle nut, so I have two quick and easy things I can check when I get home. Thank you!
