Default VIDA Installation problem

I have a laptop which runs Windows 7 professional and IE9. I successfully loaded VIDA onto this in late November 2016 and used it with Dice to good effect. I haven’t used it since 2017.
Due to a poor performance issue with my S40 I went to use VIDA to force a regen of the dpf, however, when I fired VIDA up a few days ago, it just kept going to the WSL screen and wouldn't progress any further. Noting on the various forums that this may have been caused by the expiry of the licence at the end of 2017, I have since tried a few of the patches to correct this but that has also been unsuccessful.
So, I uninstalled VIDA and have gone through the process of updating Java and all the windows updates that are applicable to IE9. Following Cheshired5’s You Tube video to install VIDA, everything goes along swimmingly, with all the necessary files loading into my documents file but when it comes to going through the ‘set up’ phase the Installation Wizard just sits there for hours (over 10 hours) with the same screen. Believing that there may have been a glitch somewhere I stopped it and uninstalled VIDA again. I have gone through the same process all over again and the result is the same.
I’m a little short on ideas with what to do next as I’m not particularly brilliant with computers. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me?
Thanks in anticipation.

Which antivirus do you have?
AVG and Avast are known to cause the hanging installation problem.

Default VIDA Installation problem

Thanks Cheshired5 and Clan.
I'll take another look later this afternoon on my return from work.

Cheshired5,
The laptop has neither AVG or Avast aniti virus. This is a standalone laptop that I have for VIDA only. No doubt it's daft but I rely on the very basic built in Microsoft anti virus & Firewall for any internet activity which I keep to a minimum.

Clan,
I take on board what you say and when I get to that point I'll see what happens but right now I can't even get VIDA fully installed. Something is causing the set up process to stall when you execute the set up file. The computer just sits there for many hours and fails to complete.

When you uninstalled the previous Vida, how many programs did you uninstall at the same time?
There's around 10 or 11 that need removing.

Also, what is the exact size in GB of the unpacked Vida installation folder from which you're trying to do the install?

I believe I uninstalled all of them as the system restore point identified the programs that were already in place prior to VIDA being loaded on the first occasion, so it was quite straightforward. From recollection there were around 10 or 11. On the second occasion when I uninstalled it I used an uninstaller program to make sure that there weren't any remnants left behind.

7.65 GB was the exact size of the file.

Just tried again with the same result. I've run a windows diagnostic scan to check for corrupted files but it says they are all ok.

Internet is off, firewall and antivirus are off.

Scratching my head now.

A screenshot of your current Programs and Features list would help.

Would if I could but can't seem to add the image. The 'add image' function won't allow it and 'copy and paste' doesn't work either.
