seat swap?
Hi all, I have read some threads about swapping front seats from manual to electric etc. My question is if I wanted to swap manual seats from an 02 plate S60 into my 52 plate xc70 with currently fitted electric seats, would the electrics of the xc70 seats fit the S60 manual seat base? Can this be done?
help/links to appropriate threads I may have missed would be appreciated... and thanks in advance. |

I'm honestly not sure about the XC70, but this is how it goes on the S60. The seats from 2001-2003 are the same (in fact the seats on the upper trims had a better foam), then the seats from 2004 on are completely different (different rails, different connectors, cushion, springs, even the heating element is different)
Even the S80 seems to be similar to the 2001-2003 S60 seats. I'm actually installing on my 2003 a front passenger seat bottom cushion from an early S80 As for the electrical part, I've read that you can only install a passenger electric seat if your driver seat is already electrical, otherwise no electrical seat swapping is possible on either side.

I just realized you actually want to install manual seats into your XC70 with electric seats, not the other way around. The important part would be to have the SRS system connectors the same.
As for swapping the electrics, this is a good question. I'd say the seat frame in the P2 looks quite like a fortress but you newer know until you try.. One thing to mention is how hard is to remove these seats from the car. Not only massive, but also heavy. A helper will definitely make your day. Also make sure the donor seats have the side airbag inside the side bolster (should have a tiny sticker along the stitches), I'm pretty sure the XC70 has it
