Default Volvo 66 report.....

Immensely glad to report that the little 66, now re-named "Daffy", (I know), flew through its MOT with no advisories!

The bodywork does still need some work........ but what a great little car this has turned out to be. I'm now enjoying just "belting along! in the little fella.

Anyone know, btw, how many other 66's there are in the club/forum?

nice one ! i remember removing many engines on these to change the clutch . Is your tramsmission in full working order changing up to overdrive mode at 30 mph when you ease off the throttle ? Make sure the adjustable cluch cearance is as small as possible to extend it's life . If you can get hold of a 340 1400 engine or even a 1700 which should bolt in , you would have quite an amazing car .

the 1.7 would be a major job to swap needing some major flywheel and bellhousing work.

A late B14.4 engine would be a good swap

I was thinking manual clutch with the 1700 , just use the clutch for stopping and starting off :-)

Not much use in having a one-legged motor then.

Putting a manual clutch on a Dolvo Vario is akin to this:

Transmission is in full working order - and it will be left completely original!

Thanks for the suggestions though guys.

Great to hear it's on the road

Although I still think it should be swapped to a modified 340 drivetrain with a 2.0 16V renault f7r engine

Default Now with "Sounds!"

This is as far as my modifications go.....

Now fitted with genuine 1970's stereo, (it is date stamped for 1977). Amazing find, new old stock, so fitted straight from its original box.

Now where did I put those ABBA cassettes.........
