Has anyone else had a s40/V50 2.0D ECU remapped?
Had mine done by Simon Coe of www.CCCtech.co.uk 166bhp 380nm torque which is all very academic but the drivablility has increased dramatically, no more changing out of 6th to overtake on a slight incline, just put the toe down and it goes.... Fantastic!
Fuel consumption hasnt changed (48.7mpg) but all this new power is causing me to enjoy the car more so in a way i guess it has improved.
£250 for the work and £35 P.A. additional insurance but its worth every penny and I am not waiting for a D5 anymore... dont need too!

Yes, the 163/230 engine goes to 203ps and 310nm torque. The 193/270 engine goes to 231 ps and 350nm torque.
I have nothing to do with CCC tech btw just a very happy customer!
Simon is a real gent, and i would recommend him to anyone.

Can he do custom chips aswell as standard car chips cos i've got a T4 turbo ready to fit to my 2.0t when weather brightens up after christmas and am guessing it may need a slightly differant chip to normal

>166bhp 380nm

Interesting - Rica map gives 180bhp but 362Nm. Would be interesting to try both to see where they gain.

In my previous life as a SEAT Leon owner, Simon Coe / Upsolute were well regarded by the people who had used his service (although the main players for VAG tuning are Revo, APR, AmD, Jabba and now Custom Code).

Like I said in my first post, to me the quoted numbers are purely academic, whats important to me is drivability. I have seen several 180bhp maps, but I think I can count on 1 hand how many times I have taken my deisel engine to the red line and would therefor have benefitted from the high BHP figure, however I use that 380nm of torque everyday for overtaking. I guess you should chose a map that best suits your driving style.
